Dr. Cory McKinsey Welcomes You
I am a Clinical Psychologist in private practice in Pasadena and I am licensed in the State of California (PSY30615).
I have been providing mental health services in Southern California since I began my training at Azusa Pacific University in 2010. Since that time, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults in psychotherapy and diagnostic assessment.
In my private practice, I focus on providing the highest quality of care in psychological assessment. It is my goal to collaborate with you in order to help you find answers and overcome barriers in your life.
A Bit About Psychological Assessment
Personalized Care and Support
I am frequently asked what psychological assessment is all about. Basically, assessments help people better understand themselves and their internal experiences through the use of empirically supported tests. By participating in various measures, I can help clarify or hypothesize about certain aspects of a person's behavior, personality, and capabilities. There are a range of areas that assessments cover such as intelligence testing, personality testing, academic testing, and neurological testing.
Services I Offer
Child & Adolescent Assessment
I have specialized training in conducting assessments with children and adolescents (ages 5- to 18-years). Often, families come to me to help determine if school-based intervention services are needed and to clarify educational and/or emotional challenges young people encounter in their daily lives.
I specialize in:
Emotional functioning (mood disorders)
Academic achievement testing
I offer psychodiagnostic assessments with adults in order to help them gain clarity and insight into their internal experience. I gather information about their emotional functioning, examine personal strengths and weaknesses, and gain diagnostic clarity in order to offer recommendations to prevent long-term mental health concerns.
Services can be helpful for:
Learning about personality traits
Examining cognitive abilities
Gaining insight into emotional functioning
Understanding ways of relating to others
